Being a mama of 8, the days my children were born will forever be some of the best memories + moments of my life. To me, the day you bring your child into this world is just as special as your wedding day. They should be documented.
I love when clients hire me for their birth and want this day remembered forever. This sweet couple were new clients and expecting baby boy #2. I met up with mom a month before her due date to chat and meet as I always do because who wants their birth photographer to be a stranger on a day that is so intimate and personal? I love that I always leave these meet ups like I met a new friend.
This sweet mama went almost 2 weeks past her due date! She patiently waited for when he was ready and her water broke and what do you know, I got the text at 3am like I always do (lol) and off I raced to the hospital. She got there and texted me she was already dilated to an 8! I was SO worried I was gonna miss the birth but thankfully I got there and was able to capture some raw laboring images before mama got her epi and was much more comfortable. I love laboring photos because they show just how strong woman are! Labor is HARD work and we are amazing :)
6 hours after I arrived, it was time to push and mama did AMAZING! When mama started pushing I noticed dad started looking like he was going to pass out. I was concerned and trying to tell him to sit down and that she's ok and we got this but he remained holding her hand. The second baby was born he sat down though and I think he was seconds away from passing out. I'm so thankful he didn't and was able to recover within a few minutes. Birth is such a whirlwind, but this mama did amazing and daddy was by her side through it all.
Welcome to the world baby Atlas Cade, you are a treasure sweet boy and I was so honored to witness + document your birthday!
