The Rowe Family

Many years ago, I showed up on a local mom's porch, to buy some baby clothes. She was a complete stranger to me at the time but we ended up chatting for an hour on the porch as we quickly hit it off and learned we both had big families and well.....there's just always an instant connection I have personally felt when meeting other big families. We are a different breed. :)

As many locals may know, less than 2 years ago, this sweet family had a devastating house fire. To this day, reading Lindsay's post describing their experience gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes. Sadly, their sweet pups didn't make it out h, but they all survived the fire, which was a total miracle. They had to jump from the second story, tossing their kids out and catching them one by one. As AJ (dad) was about to jump out himself, Lindsay realized their little boy was nowhere to be found. He was still in the house! She told AJ, who had his head hanging out the window, gasping for air due to the smoke, he had to go back....he had to go back in and find him! AJ is a veteran so not only is he a hero in our country, but he was a hero that day to his family as he miraculously saved their little boy (and family) and lived to tell the story.

It is a true miracle they are all here today. They all made it out and although their gorgeous old farmhouse was a total loss, they walked away that day with everything they truly needed. Each other. Things can be replaced, your family cannot.

I have watched this beautiful friend do hard things with such strength & beauty and I am so proud of her and all they have overcome together as a family. Soon after they moved into their new build this past year, a new farmhouse, on their gorgeous farm, they found out a surprise blessing was on the way. If that's not a beautiful rainbow after the storm, I don't know what is! s

I could go on and on about their story, the incredible ways our community came together to help and bless their family, including a surprise puppy being gifted to them, but let's just say they rose from the ashes and were given another chance at life and they are so grateful!

As I was just beginning their session, Lindsay told their kids I am the very best photographer in all of Livingston county and well, that was super humbling and also a lot of pressure. In all seriousness, one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said, so thank you friend, I hope you love your sneak peeks.

Welcome to the family little Gage, one day you will grow up, sitting on your front porch, watching a gorgeous sunset and hear all about how brave and strong your family is. You are so so loved little boy.
